implementation of gpke processes according to the
bnetza requirements

For almost all participants of the energy market in Germany the today’s primary pressure to act lies within the implementation of the BNetzA requirements. The guidelines of the BNetzA regarding the definition of standard business processes and data formats for processing the supply of the customers with electricity are defined in the resolution “Geschäftsprozesse zur Kundenbelieferung mit Elektrizität” BK6-06-009 (“business processes for the supply of customers with electricity”).

Preconfigured process packages by inubit facilitate the implementation on schedule

For the implementation of the BNetzA requirements inubit offers the market participants, based on the inubit BPM-Suite, preconfigured process packages for defined business processes. These packages contain all needed and by the BNetzA predetermined EDIFACT message types (UTILMD, MSCONS, REQDOC, CONTRL, APERAK, REMADV and INVOIC) and enable the power suppliers as well as the public services to implement the legal requirements fast and cost-efficiently.

Resulting from the flexibility of the inubit BPM-Suite the process package can be integrated in the company-specific IT systems with as less effort as possible so that continuous process integration is obtained. With this preconfigured solution the companies of the energy market benefit not only from the fast implementation of the current requirements but also from numerous other potentials provided by the inubit BPM-Suite for extensive process and business partner integration.

To automate complex business processes in the energy market in an effective way, inubit offers with the inubit BPM-Suite an integrated communication platform for exchanging all essential business messages including ready-made and preconfigured process templates. In doing so, the inubit BPM-Suite supports all ways of communication (esp. EDIINT AS2, e-mail, FTP) and data formats (EDIFACT, XML, Excel, CSV, EDIG@S) externally as well as internally.

Interfaces regarding internal applications thereby have a central importance because every automated communication only works if the data can be directly fed in from the backend systems into the processes.

But today most of the companies do not have implemented an integrated, homogeneous infrastructure. Many systems consist of single monolithic applications which are connected with proprietary interfaces. The result is the extensive maintenance of the interfaces as well as performance problems of the system landscape. Furthermore the system landscape possesses numerous widely spread log-files which prevents an accurate monitoring of the processes. Moreover employees are hardly involved adequately in the process flow.

When facing the new regulatory challenges, which will have considerable consequences on the business processes, energy suppliers may use this opportunity to examine their processes thoroughly. For this the target processes can be defined in the inubit BPM-Suite comprising the application-comprehensive data interchange, the involved employees as well as the communication with the business partners.

The technical implementation of this “Target Process Concept” is carried out via a completely graphical configuration in so called “Technical Workflows” in which all industry-specific communication formats and protocols are available via standard modules and all relevant IT systems can be integrated with the help of standard connectors “out-of-the-box”. Thus, the inubit BPM-Suite simplifies the work of companies in the deregulated energy market noticeably and provides barrier-free business operations.
