Berlin, August 25, 2009 – As a subsidiary of the private medical clearing house (PVS), PADline GmbH optimizes accounting processes in hospitals and medical practices. Focus is the provision of online services for the PVS association. In order to organize efficiently the strongly linked processes within the health sector and to reduce the work effort significantly, PADline opted for the inubit BPM-Suite as a solution for integrated process management. By implementing business process management, PADline gains a decisive competitive edge.
Process optimization focused on the flexibilization of the standard interface between the systems of the health care providers and PVS. The existing PAD interface as a fixedly structured message format is no longer able to cope with the developments within the health care sector, because this structure allows for just a few extensions and specifications. In practice, this amounts to a great number of bilateral agreements which have to be considered for processing. The aim of the project with inubit is to develop a new process-oriented interface on the basis of a standardized XML structure. This standardization enables easy maintainability and extensibility.
Another aspect of this solution is to offer an additional benefit to the providers of medical information systems (AIS) by using new web services, which can be directly implemented into the IT systems. One reason for this is the so far unilateral data flow towards private medical clearing houses. Due to this, up to now, no feedback is provided such as processing status or information about payment receptions for systems of service providers.
Thanks to the comprehensive EAI and B2B functionalities of the inubit BPM-Suite, PADline is now able to avoid all media breaks between physicians, PADline itself and the PVS systems. Furthermore, PADline is able to provide a better and faster service. The BPM software by inubit meets all requirements in terms of security of this sensitive data and information. For this purpose, a variety of cryptographic techniques are integrated into the processes. Due to the bi-directional communication structure between the participants, all market partners benefit from readily accessible information as well as from a significantly easier maintainability of the interfaces and the flexibilization of processes. So, future changes regarding process flows can be implemented smoothly.
Dirk Hoffman, manager of strategy projects at PADline, is sure that it was the right decision to opt for inubit: “Our decision for the inubit BPM-Suite was based on a selection process: in a two-step process, the providers had to demonstrate their performance within a proof-of-concept (poc) under live conditions. inubit not only realized the specifications excellently and in-time, but also proposed innovative implementation possibilities towards portal functions and web services during the proof. The poc also showed that this project opens up future opportunities for shortening process development periods and for considerably reducing process costs, so that PADline can count on a fast return on investment.”
