ebIX Process Packages
The deregulation of energy markets confronts more and more energy supplier with the challenge to realize legal requirements regarding the change of supplier and exchanging measuring data.
After implementing the requirements of the Bundesnetzagentur by German power companies in 2007, today the Swiss energy market is confronted with the task to implement and standardize the communication of data according to the ebIX standard. Analog to the solutions for the German energy market, used by more than 100 energy suppliers, inubit AG now developed a preconfigured solution for Switzerland, too.
With the implementation of the StromVG data exchange processes were described, which are necessary for the deregulated Swiss energy market. Especially exchanging measuring data and change of supplier as well as their implementations are defined. The standards here at hand allow for an automated run of processes. With initiation of the deregulation from the first of January 2009, market participants have to be able to apply these standards either by themselves or in cooperation with a service provider.
For implementing the current requirements in the Swiss energy market inubit offers to market participants preconfigured ebIX process packages for defined business processes based on the inubit Suite. These packages contain all essential processes as well as an integrated monitoring component. Especially for SAP users there are specific solutions regarding the integration of SAP systems.
ebIX Processes of Changing Suppliers
The inubit ebIX process package for changing suppliers supports an automated and standard compliant initiation and execution of these processes. In doing so, the solution supports following processes:
- Change of supplier
- End of supply
- Basic supply
- Collection / change of end consumer / pullout
- Exchange of allocation map
The solution for ebIX processes by means of changing the supplier will be exemplified. Here the employee of the new supplier has the possibility to initiate a change of supplier via a portal.
The inubit solution executes an automated ebIX process handling and dispatches the according message to the distribution system operator. The distribution system operator receives a task in the portal processing the change of supplier.
Via a monitoring he has the chance to inspect amongst others set periods of time and the actual state of processes. Optionally, via the portal, an administration of master data is feasible.
ebIX Exchange of Measuring Data
The preconfigured and easy to implement solution by inubit for exchanging measuring data supports the following processes:
- Energy billing procedure and prognosis
- Cost allocation
- Cost assignation
- Balance group accounting
In case of processes regarding the exchange of measuring data the inubit Suite and the ebIX process package, consisting of business and technical workflows, will undertake the task of commuting incoming ebIX messages into MSCONS messages. It was opted for MSCONS, because this format is supported by prevalent EDM systems. The comparison is carried out with administered master data from the system-owned data base.
Especially for SAP users there is a specific solution, in which the comparison of master data via BAPI is directly carried out via the SAP IS-U system. In doing so, the status return is archived in SAP, but will be also available in the monitoring portal at the same time. Via the monitoring portal employees and management will receive evaluations in real-time regarding the processes for exchanging measuring data.
