Compliant Communication via RosettaNet Standard

For the easy and efficient communication on the basis of the RosettaNet standard there is the RosettaNet Connector within the inubit Suite available. This does not only enable the easy and efficient implementation of RosettaNet messages but also supports processes defined by the RosettaNet standard.

The RosettaNet Connector by inubit comprises the following functionalities:

The inubit RosettaNet Connector supports the implementation of the RosettaNet standard and the user benefits from advantages of an integrated business process management system at the same time.

  • Supporting the RosettaNet Implementation Framework V2.0
  • Verification of messages regarding syntactical correctness and transferring into an own XML format
  • Archiving of received message
  • Generating a valid RosettaNet message from PIP-messages edited in the workflow
  • Generating and controlling the used message IDs according to RNIF

The processes defined by the RosettaNet standard are provided by the inubit BPM-Suite in form of business workflows and connected with technical processes.

Benefits at a Glance

  • Easy and efficient implementation of the RosettaNet standard including given processes
  • Further RosettaNet PIPs are available “out-of-the-box”
  • Central communication interface
  • Scalable solution with extensibilities
  • Process data acquisition
  • Integration of employees via web applications

RosettaNet background information

RosettaNet is a consortium consisting of more than 600 companies from the sectors of electronic components, information technology and semiconductor production. Target of this consortium is to provide a communication standard to exchange business documents. According to this not only message standards were established but also complete process definitions incl. a dictionary for generating a definite and comprehensive wording.

Hence the RosettaNet standard consists of three components:

  • RosettaNet Partner Interface Processes  (PIPs) – defines processes between business partners.
  • RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF) – contains all necessary information for generating a RosettaNet implementation and describes the configuration of the used XML messages, the procedure of packing and unpacking of messages, the supporting protocols, safety requirements and error handling in detail.
  • RosettaNet Dictionaries – are divided into Business Dictionary and Technical Dictionary and contain amongst others the characteristics of products, master data of business partners and transaction data.

Case Studies

"We rather invest in the optimization of our processes than spend money on new business applications. We remain more flexible when integrating our various systems instead of adapting our processes to a monolithic block. In case a new a process requires a new system, we can simply add this on.“
Thomas Wisgalla, HL komm
